Start with the site, not the product
Traffic volume, vehicle type, entrance width, substrate, rainfall, drainage, available cleaning equipment and the distance to the public road all shape an effective trackout-control plan.
Local authority, client and contract requirements must be confirmed before selecting a method. FODS does not provide a blanket guarantee of compliance.
Plan the operating method
Define who will inspect the entrance, how accumulated material will be removed, where recovered material will go and when the system will be relocated or expanded.
For projects that require wheel washing, a reusable dry entrance may be evaluated as a pre-cleaning measure or as part of a combined system.
Use a measured pilot
A pilot should record baseline conditions, weather, traffic, cleaning frequency, road-housekeeping observations and maintenance time. Review the result with the project team before wider deployment.
